Twitter Assignment Experience
When we first started this assignment I was really dreading having to reconnect to my twitter account and have to tweet every day. I have never been a social media fan because I don't necessarily agree with all of the personal information that is given away. I've always thought that social media was sort of dangerous in that way. In reactivating my twitter account I did find it interesting to see how many companies use twitter for advertising and product promotion. It showed me that if someone wants to run a successful business at this day in age, they better be active on social media. One thing that I learned from the "Twitter for College Students" article was that you can link your blog posts directly to your twitter so that when you post on your blog, your post is automatically sent to your twitter. Although I do see value in twitter from a business perspective, I do not take personal pleasure in tweeting. I still think that social media defeats most of the privacy in people's lives and I am not really a supporter of that.

My LTX Weekend
I don't really know what I should post about, so I guess I will tell you a little bit about my upcoming weekend. This weekend I am headed to FT McCoy to conduct a Leadership Training Exercise (LTX) with the Army ROTC program. As you can probably imagine, our training capabilities are limited on campus, so twice a year we go to FT McCoy for some more useful/realistic training. The first day consists of day and night land navigation. I like land nav because it is essentially a 4 hour nature walk by yourself during the day and then again at night. The next day we are going to the range to qualify with both M16s and M9s. After that we are going to do some grenade courses. Finally, on Sunday we are going to repel from the 100 ft. repel tower and go through the obstacle course. Yeah, they are long days, but it is what I love so I have a good time with it.
